Vincent Rivera joined M.W. Steele Group to combine his passion for social improvement with the wide variety of firm projects centered on building community. With more than 10 years of project experience ranging from historic preservation, K-12 education, healthcare, residential, and a variety of public and private buildings, he brings a wealth of construction details and designing to the shared knowledge of the firm.

While simultaneously working on his MA in Interior Design from California State University Fresno and Master of Architecture from New School of Architecture and Design, he worked as a drafter honing his knowledge of detailing. His interest in the both the natural and built environment and equity has led him to be an active member of his neighborhood of City Heights. Past activities included hosting and organizing Park(ing) Day activities and neighborhood potlucks; building and installing a sidewalk library; designing signage for a neighborhood pocket park and creating a public bicycle air pump station. He currently is a member of the Built Environment Team and volunteers with the various organizations in City Heights including San Diego Canyonlands.

Vincent contributes to the firm’s philosophies with his desire to work on projects with social and environmental causes and his belief that beauty is in the details as well the big picture. When he is not at the office, he can be found biking, composting, working in his garden or on his house with his dog, Oso. You will often find him educating staff on recycling and composting - he keeps us honest, green, and laughing at a punny joke or two.
