OTAY MESA COMMUNITY PLAN UPDATE

Otay Mesa is one of 40 communities in San Diego, each with their own community plan. The proposed plan creates a series of mixed-use villages along transit corridors, while balancing the preservation of industrial land and open space. Each village will be of a unique character and will contain distinct facilities, with schools, parks and public facilities distributed throughout the community to support the residents and businesses alike. Villages located directly on the transit corridor and near the projected 905 freeways will include the highest densities and the greatest mix of uses. Villages located in other areas or along major open space preserves are planned to allow for lower densities with more emphasis on residential uses.
