M.W. Steele Group reimagined the space by providing a sunshade canopy, built-in seating, a stage for concerts and presentations, and enhanced landscaping and lighting. The project focused on creating a comfortable and inviting space that can serve both the library and the community as a whole. There are multiple scales in which the courtyard can be used. For large gatherings and events, portable tables and chairs can be brought into the space. For a more intimate gathering, the storing telling rock can be used as a perch upon which a children’s books can be read, with the onlooking frog statue listening in.
