GALAXY TACO

Galaxy Taco is located in the west end of the old La Jolla Shores market and includes two adjacent cottages. The design concept was an informal cozy but lively environment. The old market space was the perfect spot for a large bar along with general seating, a private dining space, restrooms and some basic back of the house facilities. The cottages were re-purposed into a kitchen and the other, a dining pavilion. The dining pavilion (front facing cottage) was “deconstructed” by keeping the roof joists but removing the roofing and roofing boards, along with removing about half the exterior walls. This resulted in a mostly outdoor dining experience.
