Clayton Madrid
Clayton joined us in 2018 and has a contagious passion for technology. His work with Revit, 3D modeling, and architectural detailing make him a favorite in the office.
Clayton’s interest in architecture was sparked while attending trade school and working in the construction industry. While studying Environmental Design at the University of Colorado at Boulder he built a strong foundation for master planning, holistic design, and environmental relationships. Clayton continued to build on this education finding a personal focus within architecture and completing the master’s program at The NewSchool of Architecture + Design here in San Diego. Like our own belief in giving back to the community we are thrilled that Clayton gives back to the design community as an instructor for The NewSchool of Architecture + Design, The Art Institute, and Cuyamaca College. He enjoys teaching courses on architectural detailing and design, environmental design, and building systems.
As a designer, Clayton is all about the details, from his day job as an architect to his alter ego as a fabricator. This dual quality is evident in his design experience ranging from custom home product to Burning Man exhibitions. His project experience also includes coastal multi-unit residential complexes navigating sensitive habitats and environmental impacts; mixed-use commercial developments featuring high-end residential appointments; and defined streetscape identities.
With Clayton’s sense of community, technical skills, and love of a good cup of coffee, we are excited to have him join our team on projects ranging from our work on Rams Hill Golf Club to affordable housing in East Hills.
