EL CAJON TRANSIT SPECIFIC PLAN

The Transit District Specific Plan and the City's General Plan provide a framework that will guide future land use and development in the Transit District. The Specific Plan is consistent with and serves as an extension of the El Cajon General Plan, which will provide both policy and regulatory direction. Elements of the plan include: Complete street solutions including the creation of three roundabouts on El Cajon Boulevard to serve as traffic calming devices while establishing "green gateways" into the City. The Plan introduces dedicated bike lanes, urban multi-use trails, landscaped parkways, and widened sidewalks to accommodate public gathering and cafes. Specific Plan update, land uses and zoning to support transit-oriented development and mixed-use development in the transit district.
