The University of California, San Diego enlisted M.W. Steele Group to renovate and re-imagine the Pub/Event Venue within the original student center family of buildings. As one of the few original "hang-out" spots on campus, this building was seen as a truly student-oriented space. The original building was constructed in the 1970's and was lacking a visual presence along the main walkway and had an underused lobby space shaped by both spaces.
The renovated building now provides two separate and distinct accessible entries for the Pub and Event Space. Along with the improved entry, M.W. Steele Group upgraded the restrooms, lighting, windows and doors to current code standards.
