Working in tandem with Keyser Marston (a economic advisory firm), M.W. Steele developed design concepts for the “refresh” and revitalization of the Sun City Retail Center in Menifee, CA.
Sun City was first developed in the 1960’s as the Cherry Hills Plaza and later grew to become a commercial strip center with several “big box” retailers, including two grocery stores, two drugstores and several “mom and pop” shops and restaurants.
M.W. Steele Group provided a retail revitalization strategy that included design concepts for the development of a “Restaurant Row,” gateway features and signage, landscape and parking lot improvements and social gathering spaces for active use and to encourage patrons to stay and shop.
One key concept was the “Rambla” or a landscaped median strip that we proposed energize with seating areas, landscape, art and furnishings.
Design concepts and strategies were coordinated with a larger retail revitalization feasibility study prepared by Keyser Marston.
