Mar Vista
Mar Vista is a new planned “Urban Village” on a 7.4 acre redevelopment site in South East San Diego. The project incorporates mixed uses of retail, commercial, workshops and 135 units of “for-sale” multi-family residential with a number of subterranean parking spaces. The site has sweeping views from the Pacific Ocean to the Laguna Mountains in the East and is located within walking distance of the local trolley and bus system.
MW Steele Group and other members of the design team are participating in an innovative collaboration with San Diego Gas & Electric (SDG&E) to encourage Smart Growth principles, sustainable design and energy conservation. Alternative energy producing mechanisms will be employed and new creative methods of energy production will be developed.
In total, Mar Vista looks to the future of urban and environmental development with a progressive approach to site development, urban planning, energy conservation, and overall environmental concern.
The project team is seeking a LEED Silver rating for the development.
