Island Village
Island Village is a transit oriented, mixed-use development located in the East Village district of downtown San Diego. It provides neighborhood serving retail as well as 280 affordable housing units.
The commercial street edges are defined by storefront retail spaces that relate to the commercial and pedestrian activity of the area. The single room occupancy residential units are stacked in four-story buildings, oriented around an internal residential courtyard. The project is located directly on a trolley line, offering residents and patrons easy access to downtown and greater San Diego. Common amenities for the residents include a living room, community kitchen, shared laundry facilities, and outdoor terraces.
